I installed the heater yesterday without too much difficulty. The instructions were very clear. One note for others. For whatever reason I imagined that the heater would be perpendicular to the engine. That would be a hole on the back of the engine. Or a finger in the coolant. In fact the heater is inserted in a hole parallel or on the side of the block. Heating the block that would warm the coolant.

First Start with the Block Heater

I was pleased at the easy, unstrained manner the car came on after a night being plugged in. The ignition was just as if I'd driven the car ten minutes ago and shut if off. I wish I'd had the heater 2 weeks ago when we had severe cold, which by now has moderated--but we haven't gone through January yet. The car works hard daily getting up the hillside in the city after a cold start to go home. The block heater will reduce strain on that little engine.
